There’s a simple marketing tool that can attract more buyers to your website, but it’s often overlooked by marketers. The “Company Profile” page that is included as part of your Business Directory listing is a powerful tool. It serves as a first impression for potential buyers who are visiting the Directory. We’ve come out with lots of new features for the Company Profile. Here are some tips for maximizing each section of your Profile:

Contact Information
Making sure your contact information – address, phone number, etc. – is up-to-date may sound like a no-brainer, but many marketers forget this important step. A change in area code, address or website URL means potential buyers are unable to contact you. If outdated information is out there, you’re throwing leads away.
For maximum effect: Include your logo with your company information.

About Your Company
Unlike the “About” section of your own website, which talks about when the company was founded and your mission statement, this paragraph should speak directly to the buyer. What pain points does your product or service solve? Think about what will prompt the buyer to say “I want to work with this company.”
As an example, see the LaMar Lighting Company Profile.

Products and Services
You can list four, so weigh your options carefully. Your best bet is to list your best selling products, or the newest ones. To provide the prospective buyer with the most useful information, don’t link to your website home page; rather, link directly to a page that talks about that specific product.
As an example, see the Lebello USA Company Profile.

Trade Shows
You spend a lot of time and money on trade shows, so promote them heavily. Your Company Profile is an ideal place to promote: Let prospects know which shows you’re attending and at what booth they can find you.
As an example, see the Bonika Shears Company Profile.

Clients
Listing your top clients – particularly those with the best brand recognition – builds credibility.
For maximum effect: Link the company name to the client’s website.

Images
Photos are easy to upload and require no re-sizing – and of course, a picture is worth a thousand words. When choosing photos, keep your audience in mind. Product photos are much more useful to buyers than a picture of your corporate headquarters, or your logo. Equally as important is the caption that accompanies the photo. It should be brief, descriptive and include the product name.
As an example, see the SDC Security Door Controls Company Profile.

Business Chatter
Share quick tidbits of company news in real-time. Business Chatter appears on every page of the Directory, and when you make a post, it links directly to your Company Profile page. So it’s a great way to get more traffic to your Profile. Some tips on what not to do when Chattering: Avoid self-promoting statements like “we’re the best.” Don’t use acronyms – no one outside of your organization knows what they mean. Don’t post Help Wanted ads – you’re speaking to potential buyers, not job hunters.
